Since Caleb lost his calling I see you wonder why, he's started wearing purple his mouth is always dry. He's with us for a little while and then he's on his way I hear he's got a sweetheart in a blue enchanted bay or so they say He looks up at the mountain he wanders from the path he's traded in his dog collar for the grapes of wrath The universe has opened he fell inbetween his eyes are wild and staring with everything he's see. And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire no no no And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire Since Caleb lost his calling he has no need to eat though the brown skin girls lay the breadfruit at his feet We try to find a reason to relight the flame he's intent on going native in everything but name And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire no no no And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire The bells ring for the service but prayer is for the birds the wheel it is still spinning but he can't find the words Since Caleb lost his calling the Holy Ghost is gone doesn't really matter which side he is on And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire no no no And what the eye don't see the heart don't desire. Since Caleb lost his calling Since Caleb lost his calling

Light is fading along the shore I want one sweet spoonful more but I'm not ready for that one last dance I give her one on the nose if I get the chance but if she takes me oh then she takes me iffen she take me then I'm going home and if she wants me I guess that she'll have me all I ask is that she swallow me whole Back of the line, am I out of time? Back of the line, shadow on my mind. Sometime the reaper come in a white coat sometime he come like bird from the sky sometime she comes like a fish out of water seems like everybody wanting to fly But if it's my time then it's the right time I can't cry I never got to roam no and if a song plays along in my mind then there's something to whistle as I'm on my way home. Back of the line, am I out of time? Back of the line, shadow on my mind. Well there's not a whole lot on offer just an old bag of bones who's already had much to suffer I would hope that she would leave me alone But if she takes me oh then she takes me iffen she takes me then I'm going home and if a song rolls along in my mind then I'll be whistling as I on my way home Back of the line, am I out of time? Back of the line, shadow on my mind.

Let go 04:04
Let go, you gotta let go every now and then mama you got to let go Iffen you don't know where the hell you are fall back into the arms of your everlovin' star every now and then mama you got to let go Was taking the 'tail down in a rusty van broke down two days in the baking sand got to the end of the 2nd day I took the whole stinking mess and I threw it away Let go, you gotta let go every now and then mama you got to let go Iffen you don't where to begin fall back into the arms of the everlovin' wind every now and then mama you got to let go You never just ask and you never just say but I give you an answer anyway Did I ever give you cause for doubt I say woah girl you gonna wear yourself out. I know you and you ain't sweet silver wings on your baby doll feet look like the river gonna carry you away I say now's not the time to seize the day Let go, you gotta let go every now and then mama you got to let go Iffen you don't know where the hell you are fall back into the arms of your everlovin' star every now and then mama you got to let go I was shocked down to the core when I saw the suitcase by the door Nothing particular she had to say she turned on her heel and she walked away Let go, she had to let go every now and then mama you got to let go Iffen you don't where to begin fall back into the arms of the everlovin' wind every now and then mama you got to let go

Holiday 02:43
Oh you're a holiday such a holiday oh you're a holiday such a holiday It's something I think worthwhile if the puppet makes you smile if not then you're throwing stones throwing stones, throwing stones Oh it's a funny game don't believe that it's all the same can't think what I just said put the soft pillow on my head If millions of eyes can see then why am I so blind when the somebody else is me it's unkind, it's unkind It's something I feel worthwhile if the puppet makes you smile if not then you're throwing stones throwing stones, throwing stones Oh you're a holiday such a holiday Now it's my turn to say and I say you're a holiday If millions of eyes can see then why am I so blind when the somebody else is me it's unkind, it's unkind

I saw you in the Lone Star cafe you were a hell of a sight I asked you how you been you said something obscene and before you headed into the night you turned and whispered to me Save a little something for yourself give it all away you will live to rue the day you got to save a little something for yourself Cos when the fun is done you'll be looking out for number one. Pirates in the days of old the seven seas they did roam But every mother's tear had a gold ring in his ear he could always find his way back home that's why I say you got to Save a little something for yourself give it all away you will live to rue the day you got to save a little something for yourself Cos when the fun is done you'll be looking out for number one. All the world loves a lover love makes the world go round But I think you'll find that love is also blind so when you wind up at the lost and found next time remember Save a little something for yourself give it all away you will live to rue the day you got to save a little something for yourself Cos when the fun is done you'll be looking out for number one.

You got light, you got space you got the morning sun across your face you got your piece of an architect's mind but too much light is sometimes unkind woah why's it going wrong It's in your mind your magazine house tales of desperation falling from your mouth You caught the sun, you caught the wind told them where to start and where they could begin You looked for birdsign in an empty sky I threw the bones and the bones never lie We headed off to your retreat where the view is really hard to beat we counted shells we counted days we spent a lifetime rolling in the hay woah why's it going wrong Just a taste of another life oh babe I love to watch you use a knife The sisterhood they let you in don't matter what you've done or where you say you've been You looked for birdsign in an empty sky I threw the bones and the bones never lie You went west I went south tales of humble pie was falling from my mouth Your own design, it did you in no matter what you've done or where you think you've been You looked for birdsign in an empty sky I threw the bones and the bones never lie

Isn't it the time of year there's a new chill in the air and everything must change This is not what should appear the sea heaves up against the wall I'd turn the wind off if I could And it's only when you smile I feel the extra mile roll on and on and it's just all the things you are are just a bridge too far I'm almost gone, almost gone. Isn't it the time of day not easy to escape the scales I'd tip the balance if I could Now the yellow season comes fire on every mountainside The wind as empty as a drum And it's only when you smile I feel the extra mile roll on and on and it's just all the things you are are just a bridge too far I'm almost gone, almost gone. How do we appease the gods it's a devil wind that blows I'd turn the dust off if I could On the tides we may lie eyes fixed upon a star Calm waters waiting in my mind And it's only when you smile I feel the extra mile roll on and on and it's just all the things you are are just a bridge too far I'm almost gone, almost gone.

Once I'm throughwith the lovey-dovey scene gonna get myself a boat, call it Nadine live by the sea, smell how I smell And if you come to visit baby I won't tell All my days will get their natural rhythm all my friends will be the men without women go back to bed if the glass is falling can't say that I'll hear you if I hear you calling I'll have all the time in the world all the time in the world all the time in the world to dream about you Have me a smokie on a Sunday morning sleep on the beach without any warning make a pass at the widow next door I hear she's been married seven times before If I want to go I won't have to stay drink on the bench in the middle of the day everyone's birthdays well I'll just forget them All my things will be right where I left them I'll have all the time in the world all the time in the world all the time in the world to dream about you

The Old Book 03:22
I believed that the world was for the meek and the new book served us well. How many times I turned the other cheek But it's the old book yes it's the old book It's the old book I read from now How does beauty survive without the means to defend herself Mr Big asked of Mr Lee At the time I didn't understand the question But it's the old book yes it's the old book It's the old book I read from now And forgiveness is down the river and redemption's gone around the bend Don't wring your hands, ain't no use complaining Cos it's the old book yes it's the old book It's the old book I read from now.

They buried his heart under a tree carried the rest of him back to the sea Oh Mary you should have stayed at home Forgive a man for all that he blunders he never took you to the smoke that thunders Oh Mary he had to do it on his own Love needs to be blind, when your man has lost his mind you followed hin to Mozambique, the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak and they laid him in the abbey, but his heart is in the red red ground with you. If you never learned it at the mission school you probably didn't need to know but oh Mary you shoulda listened to your mama for Chuma and Susi it was not too far a thousand miles to Zanzibar Oh Mary, they must have loved him too Red sun on a dusty town, you're so far away but you're the one that stayed what's the use of being laid with kings when you're interested in other things and they laid him in the abbey, but his heart is in the red red ground with you. And any place that has a place for me, you can leave me there under a tree from Caledonia we were thrown, the green hills were never home and they laid him in the abbey, but his heart is in Africa with you.

Say the word 03:23
Some seeds fell on stony ground some of the pebbles don't make a sound tossed into the river where the light don't shine down in the valley by the old gold mine Some of yer soldiers wound up dead no pension plan no teeth in their head did I see you in the city with your eyes gone blind I feel it too but I pay it no mind Years drift away like headlights in the rain But here's that morning sun knocking on my window pan Just say the word Just say the word Battleships of steel and chrome sail past islands nobody calls home It's the grey of the mind I fear from the blue skies that you hold so dear Too many fires gone out and gone cold too many years on the national road Did I see you walking down on the sand looking like a stranger in your own homeland Summers drift away like flowers down the stream but I will remember you, I'll see in you in one of my dreams Just say the word Just say the word Some of the birds never found their song flying close to the sun just a little too long Over the land with a song born dead under a sky that's the colour of lead Some of the smoke came without no fire some of the words got lost in the wire But all you are is still in my mind I'll see babe in another time faces drift away like mist in the morning sun but here's that mockingbird song a new day's just begun Just say the word Just say the word
